August 10-11th	Habitat Build	Habitat for Humanity house construction begins August 10th. The construction site is 1374 Curtis Street in Firestone Park. Blitz Week begins Friday 8/10/07. Afterwards building will be each Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday until the house is completed. Fairlawn Lutheran Church is an active participant in this effort. We contribute financially through the Human Care Ministry budget and serve lunch to the builders on August 11, the Saturday of Blitz Week. We also supply builders throughout the 15-week build. Through the caring generosity of the FLC Vacation Bible School children, we are providing a large assortment of kitchen items (160+) to the new home owner and her 3 children when they move in near Thanksgiving. Also, the VBS children wrote notes and prayers individually and made three handmade “prayer bears” for the owner’s children. Thank you, VBS children, for showing your love for your neighbor! While volunteer builders are needed each scheduled day, FLC is asked to supply a crew for two selected days. We chose Friday 8/31/07 and Saturday 10/6/07. Signup sheets for these two selected build days and the lunch on 8/11/07 are/or will be posted soon. Your participation is appreciated in this worthwhile community project. August 20th, Monday		Red Cross Bloodmobile is from 1pm - 7pm at FLC. Together we can save a life! There will be a RED CROSS blood dive here at FLC on August 20, 1—7 PM. Please call Phyllis Woodward at 330-659-9071 or Pattie in the church office, 330- 836-7286 if you are willing to be a blood donor. Walk-ins are welcome! Thank you!
August 25th, Saturday	Preschool Open House.
August 26th, Sunday	STOCKHOLDERS DINNER is Sunday, August 26, at 5:30. All congregation members are invited. Stockholders receive free admission. All others, $5/ person admits one to experience CHOSEN, the 2007 LCMS National Youth Gathering and the personal testimonies of several of our youth.
