The primary function of the Preschool is to provide quality Christian early childhood education for children of Fairlawn Lutheran Church and the surrounding communities, teach the fundamentals of the Christian faith, and provide a program rich in academic time and play time, with results that exceed the standards of early childhood education required by the State of Ohio.

Team Vision:
Fairlawn Lutheran Preschool is acknowledged as an accredited and integral ministry of Fairlawn Lutheran Church. Congregational support is clearly visible and strongly communicated through budgeted support, membership enrollment and volunteer assistance. Community talent and financial resources are utilized to enrich the preschool's ministry. The growing church/preschool staff is well integrated, connect informally and formally, and support each other's goals. The staff is well equipped and in tune to the changing needs of our community. We are ministering to families through our Christian developmental day care. Consideration for a Lutheran grade school is growing as our kindergarten approaches capacity. Our teachers and students enjoy the additional space and programming our gymnasium, assembly hall and education wing offer. Those passing by see joy on children's faces as they benefit from ball play and riding toys in our enlarged outdoor playing area. Our web site, summer day camp, community education programs and speaker bureau continue to be valued family resources to the greater Akron area. Our preschool is a pillar of our community where all find Christ-centered and child-friendly resources and programs.

Philosophy:
We believe the most effective influence in a child’s life can be realized when the church, home, and school work together. Each has an immediate and direct influence on developing child. Fairlawn Lutheran Preschool is an important ministry of the congregation in nurturing children in the Christian faith and reaching out to bring others to Christ. We consider Fairlawn Lutheran Preschool to be an extension of the home and partners with the parents.
