"Federwitz Update from Ghana"

Dear Faithful Partners. Let's begin this email with the biggest miracle: Levi Simeon Federwitz was born on Sunday, March 2 at 6:57 pm. He weighed 7lbs. 1 oz. and was 21 inches long.

Levi and I were able to come home on Monday afternoon. We are all making adjustments as we are now a family of four. So far, Hannah loves being a big sister and would easily smother her brother with hugs and kisses. Levi and I have been back to the doctor for a checkup and we are doing well. Since we have been home, he has developed a little bit of jaundice. We are not concerned at this point but would appreciate your prayers that this would quickly clear up.

The next answer to prayer is our vehicle. The shipment is not scheduled to arrive until the 20th of March. If it is on time and all goes well with registration and everything else involved, we will be able to pick up our vehicle April 1st. BUT ... they had one that is "leftover" from last month's shipment so we should have possession of our car very soon … our very own vehicle!

Paul was able to obtain a birth certificate for Levi quickly. We were told that this process can take weeks. Then we found out that we did not have the certified birth certificate needed to apply for a passport and resident permit for Levi. Therefore, Paul went out again to get the correct certificate. With a little help from a friend at GILLBT, he made it to all of the correct people, begged and pleaded a little and was home a day later with the certified birth certificate. This allowed us to go to the US embassy to register his birth and apply for a US passport. All of these steps may seem somewhat simple, but believe me, they certainly are not. To be able to complete all of this in three days is a miracle in itself. Now we just need to wait a few weeks for the passport, pray that it comes in the 2 to 3 weeks that they say it will take.

For those of you that have told us that you are "only" able to support us with your prayers, perhaps now you can see why we are so grateful for such an important support system. Please continue to support us in this way as we certainly can't do it without you! God has shown Himself to us in so many ways and we know that He will continue to do so.

     Blessings!

     Ali, Paul, Hannah and Levi
