August 13th, Friday Prayer Shawl Ministry
KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS WANTED

Prayer shawls or lap robes are knitted or crocheted by church members and presented as a gift from our congregation to people who are experiencing bereavement, serious illness or other difficult circumstances. Many prayers and blessings are knit into every shawl. When a person wraps themselves in their prayer shawl, they are reminded of the love of our congregation and the gentle arms of Jesus which enfold, uplift and comfort us all.

Join us on Friday, August 13 from 1:00 to 3:00 to help us begin a Prayer Shawl Ministry at Fairlawn Lutheran Church.

If you love to knit or crochet, or would like to learn how, we need you. Please bring U.S. Size 11 knitting needles and 600 to 700 yards of the yarn of your choice (preferably worsted or bulky weight) and help us create a meaningful ministry!

1:00 to 7:00 p.m.

As we get into August and September, there will be many days of blood emergency status at the Red Cross blood bank. Blood donations decrease during the summer months due to vacations and schools not in session. Donating blood is often not a priority in our daily lives.

OPEN M LUNCH
We will prepare/serve a hot lunch at OPEN M Neighborhood Center on Tues., Aug. 17, 10am- 2pm.

10 volunteers and 30 dozen cookies are needed. (Kids are out of school in Aug!) Sign up on the Mission Tower sheet to prepare serve/ food and/or make or buy cookies.
