OUR BELIEFS

Being "Lutheran"

We accept and preach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone. As a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, a complete presentation of God's teaching can be found here.

  • What do we believe?

    At Fairlawn Lutheran, we believe:

    • In God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
    • In God’s re-creating gifts — the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
    • That the Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God, and that in it, God reveals our salvation in Jesus Christ and His plan for our lives
    • That forgiveness and faith are from God alone that come to us through His gifts in a relationship of faith with Jesus Christ
    • That God’s great love for all people should be made known to others in our lives as Christians

  • What do we value?

As believers in Christ, we value:

    • Caring relationships
    • Family focus
    • Committed leadership
    • Community outreach
    • Christian education
    • Worship & music
  • What do we offer?

    Fairlawn Lutheran offers:

    • A caring atmosphere where relationships are emphasized
    • Teachings based on Biblical truths and focused on real-life application
    • A congregation where individual and group prayer is a priority

    • A Spirit-filled worship

Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Scripture Alone

Grace Alone

  • God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Faith Alone

  • By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Scripture Alone

  • The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
